Hello! I’m Faye.
I am a British journalist, copywriter and consultant working across fashion, music and culture.
I started my career in 2019 at British GQ, where I worked as a Junior Digital Editor. My title covered a broad range of topics, from reviews in music and cinema to curated guides in travel and lifestyle. While in this role, I joined GQ’s fashion team, where I profiled rising designers, shared personal styling advice, and worked with commercial partners on the coverage of industry releases. My content contributed to a first-time milestone in the magazine’s fashion sector – one million unique monthly readers – for which our team received a BSME award. The success of this content, while rooted in editorial fluency, was also aided by a strong understanding of SEO, newsletter coordination and social media strategy.
After two years at GQ, I moved to Paris. With a desire to integrate myself in the city that had long nurtured my cultural interests (and also settle before the dooms of Brexit kicked in), this re-location also coincided with my move to a freelance career. As a journalist, I cover a variety of cultural features for global publications: from menswear for L’étiquette and music for Dapper Dan, to lifestyle for Refinery29 and design for The World Of Interiors. I also continue to work for British GQ as a weekly commerce writer. In 2022, I was invited to the Institut Français de la Mode to talk about my editorial experiences in a lecture for undergraduates.
As a copywriter, I work for a range of marketing agencies on the conception of digital projects. My services are creative copywriting, script treatments and social marketing copy. I spent a year working as a senior copywriter for Condé Nast’s in-house creative agency, CNX, where I narrated a broad spectrum of brand advertorials and social campaigns for titles like Vogue, Wired, GQ, and Traveller. Other clients include Paris-based agencies V(Room) and AKQA, for which I have helped formulate re-branding briefs and tone of voice guidelines across the luxury beauty sector.
Through consultancy, I offer hyper tailored services to elevate the unique sensibilities of a client through a culturally-conscious perspective. I have helped with editorial launches (in both written and visual formats) for rising tailoring houses like LAWTON and Husbands, and have offered advice on the modern codes of Parisian style for Hermès.
Living in Paris allows me to pulse through the intersections of culture: overground and underground alike. This journey continually enlightens my artistic perceptions, which I tune to each type of work.
